If you use your own API key, your browser encrypts it before it reaches us. The server keeps an unreadable block and never uses it.

With your own API key, the posting text, CV and letter go from your browser straight to the provider you chose. Only reading the public page of the posting goes through us.
Passwords with argon2id, a second factor with an authenticator app, session tokens stored only as hashes.
Applications and files are encrypted before they leave your device, with a key that never reaches the server: what we store is unreadable. The two cases in the table below are the exceptions, only after your consent.
Export everything to CSV, Excel or JSON. Delete the account and the data is removed.
argon2id: a password protection method that makes guessing passwords very slow and costly, even for someone who stole the database. Unreadable block: encrypted data that only your browser, with your password, can reopen.
We state the limit: encryption protects what is on the server, not the code the service gives you. The JavaScript is served by our server, so a malicious operator could change it and read what you type, the API key included, while you use it. Status, dates and file sizes remain visible. That is why we recommend a dedicated key, with a spending cap, that you can revoke at any time.

What happens if I lose my password?
If you lose your password and the encryption recovery code, you lose your data too: it is encrypted in your browser and nobody, us included, can reopen it. The encryption recovery code is shown once at sign-up: keep it. It is different from the 10 recovery codes of the second factor, which only matter if you lose your authenticator app.
How much does AI cost with my own key?
Nothing more from us: using your own API key is included in Plus and you pay your provider for actual use, with no markup. You set the spending cap at the provider.
Where is my data?
Account and applications on our server in Switzerland, encrypted in your browser: we cannot read them. The posting address and the texts of the included AI pass through our server in clear, only after your consent: the table above shows who sees what. With your own API key the AI goes from your browser to the provider.
Do you send applications on my behalf?
No, never. The AI prepares drafts and fills in fields. Sending stays with you.
Can one user’s information end up in another’s?
The separation is in the code: every AI request is built only with the data of the user making it, with no shared conversations or memory. With your own API key the AI then runs on your account at the provider, which nobody else uses.
What if your server is compromised?
The JavaScript that encrypts your data is served by our server: if it were compromised, it could read what you type and the API key while you use it. That is why you use a key dedicated to Jobdossiers, with a spending cap at the provider, which you can revoke at any time.
Can I export and delete everything?
Yes. Full export to CSV, Excel or JSON, and account deletion: data and files are removed.
